Middleterranean is located at 1600 W. Lake Street in Addison, IL. Their name is clever, strongly suggesting Mediterranean cuisine. Mediterranean makes people think of cuisine from Spain, Italy, and Greece. For some reason I sometimes overlook Turkey when I think of Mediterranean food, but Turkish food certainly boasts Mediterranean undertones. I have traveled to Turkey, and I remember the food is delicious. At Middleterranean I have tasted the chicken kebab pita sandwich with tahini sauce. Tahini sauce is made from sesame seeds, and I really enjoy the taste; it actually reminds me of homemade hummus, both in texture and taste, except that hummus is thicker and made of chickpeas, but also contains tahini. The chicken kebab pita sandwich features grilled red and green peppers, romaine lettuce, pickles, tomato, grilled chicken kebab, and a sauce of your choice. I choose the tahini sauce over the garlic mayo. I also tried the french fries flavored with lemon juice and parsley, which were phenomenal. The fries are definitely not soggy; they are crispy and delicious. I also would like to add that the fries taste like real Idaho baking potatoes. I am very particular about fries tasting like real baking potatoes. This is essential, in my opinion, for tasty french fries. Finally, I have tasted the falafel, which I enjoyed because of the strong flavor of garlic and the extra crispy exterior. Similar to french fries, I do not enjoy soggy falafel. Both need to be crispy. Falafel is made of chickpeas, and I have noticed that different restaurants vary in how they season their falafel. At Middleterranean the falafel have a noticeable garlic accent. For beverages, there is Turkish coffee on the menu, which I have not tasted. There are fountain drinks as well and Middleterranean tea; the latter I plan on tasting next time I visit.
